ARLINGTON — Hand-crafted items from Kenya, as well as locally made goods, will be for sale during a local church’s holiday bazaar and bake sale.
The Women’s Group of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church will be holding its third annual bazaar and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7.
In addition handmade wooden, crocheted, baked, home and holiday items, the church will be offering wares made by Kenyan women.
A group of parishioners traveled to Kenya in June and brought back items for the bazaar.
“They’re items that the women in Kenya made to be more self-sufficient,” Chairperson Jane Radermacher said. “It’s one of the ways that we’re helping them.”
There will also be a Bargain Boutique, at which second-hand items will be sold, and a raffle.
A homemade soup lunch will also be available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“Each year it gets a little better,” Radermacher said. “If we have good quality items, it brings people back and they bring their friends.”
For more information on the bazaar, contact the church at 360-435-8565 ext. 10.
Immaculate Conception Church is located at 1200 E. Fifth Street, Arlington.
