ARLINGTON — A robbery investigation has led to a drug bust and the arrest of two Arlington residents.
A 21-year-old and a 17-year-old, both men, are being held on second-degree robbery charges after detectives identified the two individuals as suspects in a reported robbery and assault that took place just before 8:30 p.m. on the 3300 block of 185th Place NE in Arlington.
A 19-year-old male reported that his wallet, as well as more than $360, was taken, authorities said.
On Tuesday, June 29, detectives served a search warrant in the 400 block on South Olympic Avenue, where authorities found the 19-year-old victim’s wallet.
While searching the residence, detectives also found two ounces of marijuana, drug scales and drug paraphernalia.
The 21-year-old was arrested and booked into Snohomish County Jail, while the 17-year-old was arrested and booked into the Denny Youth Center.
In addition to second-degree robbery charges, the teenaged male also faces charges of drug possession with intent to deliver.
City of Arlington spokeswoman Kristin Banfield said that South Olympic Avenue residence has been under surveillance for narcotics distribution for several months after concerned neighbors and residents alerted the Arlington Police Department for “suspicious activity.”
Banfield said that detectives are also investigating a similar robbery that took place in the city within the past few weeks to see if there’s any connection.
