ARLINGTON — A local organization recently announced a list of donors who contributed during the holidays.
Arlington-based Kidz Kloset received winter coats, clothing, shoes, gloves and monetary donations from area schools, organizations and businesses.
“We wish to acknowledge the support of each and everyone who gave during the season,” said Co-Director Linda Dussault said in a release. “We are fortunate, indeed, to be a part of Arlington.”
Donations provide students in the Arlington, Lakewood and Darrington school districts who qualify for free or reduced lunch new and used clothing, shoes, school supplies and hygiene products.
Those items are distributed twice yearly free of charge to preschool-aged children to twelfth-graders.
Donors from the 2009 holiday season include:
*Bill Reese — 20 new coats
*Stillaguamish Valley School’s “Power of One” group — boxes of clothing and shoes
*Post Middle School — clothing
*Kent Prairie’s Respect Team — clothing
*Eagle Creek Elementary — clothing and supplies
*Pioneer Elementary — giving tree of items
*ABW Technologies, Inc. — giving tree of items
*Whitehorse Family Medicine — gave gifts to Kidz Kloset instead of giving gifts to one another
*Sherry Dahlquist — 20 new winter coats for teens
*Gutierrez Family Chiropractic — clothing and monetary gifts
*Haller Middle School’s Volunteer Group — laundry supplies
*Lakewood Middle School’s Leadership Group — new clothing, gloves, hygiene items
*Arlington United Church — monetary gift
*Haggen Food & Pharmacy — Warm Clothing Drive that will benefit Kidz Kloset once completed Jan. 22
*Various monetary donations — $1,500 total
Kidz Kloset will be open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings during January from 9 a.m. to noon and from 2:30 to 6 p.m. Tuesday afternoons.
Families are served based on appointment.
The nonprofit organization will continue to seek new or gently used clothing items, which can be dropped off at its downtown location (135 S. French Street) and at other locations throughout the community.

Kidz Kloset, a 100 percent volunteer operated organization, has served hundreds of children in the community since opening its doors in May 2005.
