ARLINGTON — The Arlington Library recently released a list of its December events and activities.
All listed items take place at the library, located at 135 N. Washington Ave.
For children and families:
1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 12 — Gingerbread House: Build It, Then Eat It!
Cozy cottage or a tasty hideout for the wicked witch? Bring your friends and family to build and decorate your own gingerbread house at the library. Imagination never tasted so sweet. Supported by the Friends of the Arlington Library and the Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation.
2 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 29 — Winter Extravaganza
This event features crafts and cocoa, sparkling snow globes and dashing snow fellows and drinking hot cocoa with fluffy marshmallows. For winter creations your family can share, come to your library — we’ll see you there. Supported by the Friends of the Arlington Library.
2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 30 — Winter Extravaganza: Crafts with Creation Station
This event will give residents a chance to make useful, funny and fanciful things to take home. It is brought to you by Creation Station.
For teens:
3 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 15 — Teen Advisory Group
Teens are invited to share their ideas for library programs, purchases and improvements. Volunteer hours offered and snacks provided. Supported by the Friends of the Arlington Library.
3 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 16 — Teen Wednesdays: Quick & Easy Holiday Gifts
Join us at the library for a quick and easy gift-making session featuring spa products, bookmarks and beading. Supported by the Friends of the Arlington Library and the Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation.
10:55 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 16 — Ego Ipse: a Bring Your Own Book (BYOB) Group
Read a book of your choice and join us at the Arlington High School Library for a lunchtime book discussion focusing on the theme: identity. Sessions will be held during all lunches (first lunch, second lunch and third lunch). This event is in partnership with the Arlington School District.
3 p.m., Monday, Dec. 28 — Manga Book Group
Are you a fan of manga and anime? Share your enthusiasm with other teens as we discuss your favorites. Supported by the Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation.
For adults:
3:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 9 — Friends of the Arlington Library Meeting
The Friends meet the second Wednesday of each month. The Friends are the generous folks who help raise funds for library programs for children, teens and adults. New members always welcome.
