ARLINGTON — Fans of corn should plan on checking out the Red Rooster Festival’s Old Fashion Corn Festival.

The event, in its first year, takes place on Friday, Sept. 3 through Monday, Sept. 6 at Garden Treasurers Nursery & Organic Farm and Foster’s Produce and Corn Maze in off State Route 530 in Arlington.

Both farms will offer freshly cooked corn on the cob, as well as family activities and entertainment, during the three-day festival.

Garden Treasures will feature a corn and salsa roast, while Foster’s will have traditional corn picked from the field and cooked on the farm.

“Local shoppers really come in for the corn,” said Mark Lovejoy, owner of Garden Treasures. “They like to buy it fresh picked right from the field.”

Garden Treasures (3328 State Route 530, Arlington) will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the festival. Foster’s (5818 State Route 530) is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Admission to both events is free.
