ARLINGTON — The previous estimate that a stretch of State Route 531 would remain closed through 7 p.m. on Jan. 24 has been revised, and it’s now expected at open at approximately 5:15 p.m.
At 3 p.m. on Jan. 24, the Washington State Department of Transportation announced that SR 531 had been closed, between 43rd and 51st avenues, and expected that it would remain closed for the following four hours, but at approximately 4:45 p.m., city of Arlington officials estimated that closure would wrap up within 30 minutes.
The reason for the closure is to allow the Snohomish County Public Utility District to repair a power pole hit in a one-car crash.
