STANWOOD — Mason Derrick of Stanwood has been identified as the 19-year-old who died after the Acura sedan he was driving went off the road and rolled near Bryant on Sunday, Dec. 28.
Four teenaged passengers in the car also sustained injuries, including a 17-year-old male from Camano Island and a 19-year-old male from Arlington.
Both male passengers were airlifted to Harborview Medical Center, said Rebecca Hover, public information officer from the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Department.
The 17-year-old was listed in critical condition as of Monday, Dec. 28, Hover said. The 19-year-old was listed as being in serious condition.
Two 15-year-old female passengers were also injured in the crash, but were taken to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
The identities of the four passengers have not been released.
Authorities said the vehicle carrying the five teenagers was traveling more than 85 miles per hour when it crashed in the 28200 block of 15th Avenue NE, just north of Arlington.
The speed limit on that stretch of road is 35 miles per hour.
Derrick died at the scene, investigators said.
