ARLINGTON — The Washington State Patrol is investigating an assault that occurred in the southbound Smokey Point rest area in Arlington on April 12 at approximately 4:45 p.m.

According to the victim, the assault occurred when the victim returned to her parked vehicle. At that point, the suspect physically assaulted the victim inside of her car.

The victim suffered non life-threatening injuries.
