LYNNWOOD — Post Middle School eighth-grader Jordan Miller won a cash award in the Creativity category of the Youth Challenge Awards recently awarded by the Rotary Club of Lynnwood.

Not only does Miller carry a 3.7 GPA, she plays soccer on two teams, her school team and a recreational team which took first in her division last year. She also runs track in the spring

During the past spring quarter, Jordan was in drama class at Post Middle School, where she not only wrote a play but directed and performed in one of two shows. She received an outstanding leadership award from her instructor.

Youth Challenge Awards were presented to 68 extraordinary young citizens and six youth groups of Snohomish County for their contributions in the categories of community service, courage, creativity, environmental service, inspiration and leadership, said Tammy Rankins, the recreation coordinator for the city of Edmonds Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services.

• Kristen Gilbert of Snohomish for Environmental Service.

• Mike Rose of Edmonds for Inspiration

• Jordan Brown of Everett for Leadership.

• Mariner High School’s Latino College Prep Group for Group Award.
