ARLINGTON — What started out as one man’s irritation at neighbors who had parked their vehicle adjacent to his house ended with that man going to jail for illegally towing and dumping their vehicle, according to Arlington police.
At approximately 1:30 a.m. on Aug. 2, Arlington police officers responded to the 20700 block of Circle Bluff Drive to the scene of a reported hit and run accident. During the subsequent investigation, it was determined that two male adults had chained up and towed away a parked car and, during this incident, struck two other parked vehicles. The male suspects did not have permission to tow the vehicle away and later dumped the vehicle off a few blocks away from this location.
After initially giving false statements to police, the two suspects later admitted to towing the vehicle to another location. According to Arlington police, one of the suspects was disgruntled about other residents in the neighborhood parking their vehicles adjacent to his residence. Witnesses on the scene identified the suspects as being involved in this crime. One suspect, 26-year-old Clint McCauley, was booked into the Marysville jail, while the other is pending formal charges from the prosecutor’s office.
