ARLINGTON — A teen driver who was reportedly texting while driving hit a 63-year-old pedestrian, sending her to a hospital.

ARLINGTON — A teen driver who was reportedly texting while driving hit a 63-year-old pedestrian, sending her to a hospital.

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident involving a vehicle that struck and severely injured a 63-year-old woman.

The driver of the vehicle, a 16 year-old girl, stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

It is believed that the driver may have been texting at the time she allegedly struck the victim.

The incident occurred at the 17100 block of McRae Road NW and was reported by a witness around 8:45 Saturday morning.  The victim was transported to Providence Everett Medical Center.

The incident remains under investigation, a Snohomish County sheriff’s release says.
