ARLINGTON — Volunteers from the Arlington Windermere Real Estate office recently teamed up with the city of Arlington to clean up Centennial Park.
On June 18, more than 20 individuals helped spread bark, pick up litter and weed the park, which is located at the intersection of Broadway Street and North Division Avenue.
“Windermere strives to assist our community and each year we spend a day volunteering with community service,” said Diana Shipley of Arlington’s Windermere office. “We are currently in the process of officially adopting this park and will make this our annual project.”
Volunteers planted a nine-foot-tall flowering Japanese snowbell tree to commemorate the company’s 18th annual Community Service Day.
The city of Arlington provided volunteers with the bark and removed bags of debris after they completed their service. City workers also pressure-washed the tile in the park.
“We are excited to be part of Arlington’s growth and proud to be able to assist,” Shipley said, noting that the park would be a welcome addition for attendees of the city’s Fourth of July parade.
