Belbert Henry Bauer passed silently into eternity at 9 a.m., May 30, 2007, while on a trip to see his brothers in South Dakota. His sons, who had taken him on this trip, were at his side. He now joins his wife, rejoicing with the saints in Heaven.
Delbert was born in Hawkeye, Iowa, May 26, 1921.
He lived and worked as a South Dakota farmer until 1959, when he moved his family to Washington. He worked for Pringle Electronics and Nord Door. Never forsaking his farm roots, he was known for selling his famous sweet corn every summer from his mini farm in Marysville, Wash. People drove up every year from as far away as Seattle, Wash., for a taste of that corn. He married the love of his life, Lucile Edna Barthel on Aug. 8, 1943.
He is survived by his adoring children, Larry Duane Bauer, of Everett, Wash., Dennis Dean (Cindy) Bauer, of Lake Forest, Calif., Randal Craig (DyAnn) Bauer, of Arlington, Wash. and Nancy Jo (Rocco) Bauer Sheets, of Marysville.. Also surviving are his three brothers in South Dakota; sister-in-law in South Dakota; brother-in-law in Montana; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Delbert was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 63 years, Lucile; a sister; a brother; infant daughter; and two infant granddaughters.
Delbert was a loving, faithful and devoted Christian husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was an example of Christian love and faithfulness. He leaves a legacy in his family and dear friends. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Marysville for almost 50 years.
A viewing will be held from 4 – 8 p.m., Thursday, June 7, 2007, at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home, 804 State Avenue, Marysville.. Burial service will be held at 9:45 a.m., Friday, June 8, 2007, at Evergreen Cemetery, Everett; with a Memorial Service following at 11:30 a.m., at Messiah Lutheran Church.
Memorials may be made to the Messiah Lutheran Building Fund.
