E. ‘Maggie’ Magdalen Freeman, 95, passed away on Sept. 4, 2008, at her daughter’s home in Arlington, Wash.
She was born to Andrew Jackson and Mary Francis Hendricks on Aug. 27, 1913, in Tres Pinos, Calif. Maggie graduated from Livingston High School of Livingston, Calif., in 1935.
She enjoyed sewing, painting and gardening. Maggie was known for being a strong, outgoing and artistic woman.
Surviving Maggie are her daughters, Barbara Elsie Hopper of Arlington; Royalee Russllyn Cannon of Kent, Wash.; Jessie Elizabeth Ann Cravens of Arlington; 14 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Maggie was preceded in death by her daughter, Elva Jane Eckles; her first husband Roy Russell Pierce, fire chief of Santa Clara County for many years; and her second husband, Chief Petty Officer Roy George Freeman.
Services will be held Friday, Sept. 26, at 2 p.m., at St. Aidans Episcopal Church, Camano Island, Wash.
Inurnment will be held at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, Gilroy, Calif. Date to be announced.
