Elizabeth Mae Young (Stoaks, McDaniel) was born Oct. 15, 1945, in Seattle, Wash.
She went home Dec. 9, 2006, after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Liz is survived by her loving family: her sons, Lonnie Young (Joanne), Randy Young (Lisa), and Michael Young (Gena); daughter, Jennifer McCallister; sisters, Darlene Holmes and Rosie Radonski; 18 grandchildren; and many special friends, including Patty Fields and Leonard Castner.
Liz worked for many years as a caregiver through Sunrise Services, Bethany, and Regency of Arlington.
She also worked for the Care Crisis Line of Snohomish County for several years. She touched the lives of many people through her career and her desire to help others. Liz enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling to numerous states, and especially living in the desert. She had many talents including cake decorating, ceramics and glass etching.
Special thanks to Dr. Vincent Picozzi and the staff of Virginia Mason Oncology department, Dr. Peter Jiang, Dr. Mark Pirak and the staff of Western Washington Oncology, everyone at Johns Cascade Pharmacy, and all the staff on the seventh floor at Providence Colby, Sunrise Services and the loving care received from Hospice.
A celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 6, 2006, at 23111 107th Ave. N.E., Arlington.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society of Everett.
