Fredderick Fred Julius Anderberg, 91, a born again Christian, was taken home to be with his Lord and Savior on Dec. 8, 2006.
He was born April 24, 1915, in Long Island, N.Y.
He and his wife, Vi, raised their three sons, Fred Jr., Roy, and David in New York. Fred worked as a gasoline truck driver for the Sunoco Oil Company until retirement. He and his wife then moved to St. Petersburg, Fla., where he continued working as a painter for the city.
In the 1980s, Fred and Vi followed their sons migration to the West, settling in Arlington. Fred enjoyed model railroading and carpentry. Churches in the area benefited from his handiwork.
Fred was his wifes caregiver until she passed away in 1995. The youngest son, David, preceded his father in death in 2004.
Fred is survived by two sons, six grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 30, at the Atonement Free Lutheran Church in Arlington.
