Harold D. Hafner, 85, of Arlington, Wash., was born April 24, 1924 to Mae and Otto Hafner and passed away Feb. 2, 2010 in Everett, Wash.
Harold graduated from Arlington High School. He was a TEC 5 in the U.S. Army. Harold was a Bow Gunner on the “Cobra King” a Jumbo Sherman tank, the first tank to break through enemy lines at the Battle of the Bulge, W W II. He was a truck driver for 35 years before retirement.
Harold married Verle E. Borgen August 2, 1947 in Lowell, Wash. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Verle E.; mother, Mae; father, Otto; and brother, Lawrence.
Harold is survived by his son, Verlin, and daughter-in-law, PJ; sister, Betty Fiske; six grandchildren, Dennis Hafner, Christine Hafner, Heather Lane, Jonathan Hafner, Patrick Cook and Ole Larson; and five great-grandchildren, James Hafner, Bo Lane, Michael Hafner, Xavier Hafner and Banner Hafner.
According to Harold’s wishes, there will be no services.
