Celebrating the life of Helen Jean Tyrrell, 85, of Arlington, who peacefully went home to Jesus on Thursday, March 2, 2017.

She was born February 13, 1932 in Pittsburgh, PA to Thomas and Eleanor Taylor. She married Garrett David Joly Tyrrell on November 2, 1956 and had five children. In 1965 the family moved to Washington state. She was an assistant librarian and did children’s programs for Arlington Public Library before retiring.

She leaves behind her children Garrett (Lori) Tyrrell, Libby (Tom) McLaurin, Connie (Bruce) Grandy and Anita Tyrrell as well as 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, sisters Martha and Sally, and many other dear relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son David, and brother Tom.

Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. a graveside service will be held at Arlington Cemetery, followed by a memorial service celebration at noon at Smokey Point Community Church, with reception following.
