Ida Lorraine (Gobin) Schlosser of Tulalip, Wash., went to Heaven on July 21, 2007, surrounded by her loving family.
Ida was born in the Old Tulalip Hospital on Nov. 15, 1938, to Joseph and Ruth Gobin.
She attended school in Marysville, Wash.
She met and married life-time soul mate Richard Schlosser 53 years ago.
Ida worked at Farbest Egg Farm as an egg packer for five years. She then worked at the Tulalip Elementary kitchen for five years, from there went on to work at the Tulalip Liquor Store for 22 years.
Ida was well known for her sewing and craft work. For many years she sewed costumes for children for the Strawberry Festival parades, taking first place for her Our Gang entry comprised of all of her grandchildren.
She was known for elaborate Halloween costumes she made for her entire family. She made all the costumes for many years for the Church of God Christmas pageant, as well as making all of her daughters and granddaughters wedding dresses.
Ida also loved to crochet Christmas ornaments, doilies and table clothes. She loved to go blackberry picking, long drives, thrift store and garage sales she called it (raggin).
She was known for her very large family barbeques. But what brought her to life were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her laughter, love and quick wit will be missed by all who knew her.
Ida is survived by her husband, Richard Schlosser; daughters, Rosie Alexander, Lila (Tom) Roberts-Henderson, and Cindy (Jim) Ham; son, Richard (Sonny) Schlosser Jr.; brothers, Thomas (Bev) Gobin, and Bernie (Delores) Gobin; and sister, Betty (George) Taylor; grandchildren Zaneda, Michelle, Beverly, Misty, John, Stephan, Jeffery, Ezra, James, and Earnie; and 26 great-grandchildren.
A viewing was held at 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 25, at Schaefer Shipman funeral home in Marysville. Interfaith Service was at 6 p.m., Wednesday, at the Tulalip Community Center. Funeral Service was at 10 a.m., on Thursday, July 26, 2007, at the Tulalip Community Center. Burial followed at Mission Beach Cemetery.
