Pearl (Polly) Yvonne Mani Smith of Arlington, Washington, passed away peacefully at the age of 79 on Thursday, March 16, 2017. She was born in Deforest, Wisconsin on Aug. 6, 1937, to Freda and Ernest Mani. She delivered the Los Angeles Times for many years, as well as cared for the sick and dying. She had a heart for helping others and was one who would drop everything to go to the aid of a friend in need, and she opened her home to them and provided complete end-of-life care. She enjoyed wildlife and playing pinochle, which was her favorite card game. She is preceded in death by her mother, three brothers and her daughter. She is survived by five children: Robert, Rhonda, Randy, Marty and John; six grandchildren: Mathew, Ashley, Ben, Hannah, Sarah and Caleb; three great grandchildren; a sister and a brother, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Our family would like to thank Peacetime Adult Family Home in Lynnwood, Washington, as well as Hospice for all the love and support they gave our dear Mother and her family throughout this journey.
