Richard Solum was born in Stanley, N.D., on Oct. 21, 1941 and moved to Oregon in 1951.
He passed away on Oct. 24, 2007, of pneumonia.
He was captain of the Oregon City Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a Mason. He owned and operated Dicks Gutter Service since 1985.
He met his wife, Kathleen, on Oct. 24, 1984.
He entered the arms of his Heavenly Father and left behind his wife, Kathleen; precious daughters, Jael Burns, of Mercer Island, Washington, Maxine Halpin, of Gresham, Ore., Margaret Solum, of Oregon City, Ore., Susan Solum, of Marysyille, Wash., Stephanie Raider, of Arlington, Wash., Amanda Brown, of Marysville and Lyla and Amy of Granite Falls, Wash.; precious sons, Jeremy and Russell, of Granite Falls; grandchildren, Alysia, Nicholas, Chelsea, Shelby, all of Oregon, Jeffrey, Jared, Jeremy, Drew, Coltin, Garett, and Bille Madison; brothers, Al and Pat Solum, Gerald (Marie) Solum, Rod (Debbie) Solum, Kevin (Melody) Ogier and Blaine (Pam) Ogier; and only loving sister, Bonnie (Eddie) Wesfal. He was loved by all.
Services are to be held at 2 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 2, 2007, at the Fathers House Church on 402 South Granite Ave., Granite Falls.
