Warren Calvin Bassham

On Oct. 17, 2007, just 12 days after his 100th birthday celebration, our papa, Warren Calvin Bassham, crossed over forever into the arms of his precious Lord and Saviour at Regency Care Center in Arlington, Wash., his home away from home for the last several months. His son and daughter and two of his favorite nurses were at his bedside.
The oldest of seven children, he was born to Calvin Martin Bassham and Anna Frances (Lockhart) Bassham on Oct. 5, 1907, near the tiny town of Figure Five, Ark.
This truly remarkable man was treasured, respected and honored by all who knew him, and in turn, touched the lives of hundreds over his century of caring. His loss will be keenly felt in many communities but especially at the Marysville Goodwill store where he worked until five months after his 98th birthday.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Helen, four younger siblings and his first great-grandson. He leaves behind his two children, Len Bassham, Bothell, Wash.; Mauri Wilson (Jerry) Marysville, Wash.; three grandchildren, Cynthia Bassham -Vance (Simon), Walnut Creek, Wash.; Shaun Wilson (Julie), Everett, Wash.; John Bassham (Marilyn), Tacoma, Wash.; great-grandson Christopher Warren Wilson; special friend Mary Hilde, Lake Stevens, Wash.; siblings Pastor J. William-Bassham (Margie), Prescott, Ariz.; Reba Roswell (Heath), Loma Linda, Calif.; numerous nieces and nephews; Quil Ceda Park neighbors; and a multitude of friends, most of whom are members of his Marysville Seventh-day Adventists Church.
A special thank you to the loving and caring staff at Regency and to Dr. Mark Spencer who gave papa the highest level of quality medical care available; your combined efforts to get him to that 100-year milestone are greatly appreciated.
Warrens living memorial services were his three birthday celebrations attended by those who cheered him on to reach this huge accomplishment. A remembrance service will be announced at a later date.
