Wayne George Wood, 82, of Arlington, Wash., passed away peacefully, on April 12, 2007.
He was born Dec. 1, 1924, in Beaumont, Idaho.
Wayne graduated from Darrington High School and became a radioman on a Naval Air Gunner with the United States Navy. He later worked as a Seattle fireman, retiring in 1974 and settling on his farm in Arlington.
Waynes joy in life was his life on the farm with his wife, Norma. They loved gardening and raising their own beef cattle, playing cards and enjoying the company of their pets, family and friends. Wayne loved to fish, dig clams and watch his grandchildren play sports.
Wayne is survived by his sons, Greg Wood (Cindy), of Arlington and Stan Vinci (Charlie), of Enumclaw, Wash.; daughters, Diana Vinci (Bob), of Bow, Wash., and Debbie (Larry), of Dover, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Wood, passing June 13, 2006; brother, Elmer Wood; and grandson, Michael Vinci.
A Celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, April 28, 2007, at The Fathers House 402 South Granite Avenue, Granite Falls, WA 98252.
