MARYSVILLE – Gabriel Green won three events and teammate Sidney Trinidad two as the Arlington Eagles showed Saturday they are taking off at the right time.

At an eight-team track meet at Quil Ceda Stadium as the postseason nears, Arlington won both the boys and girls team titles.

Green posted a hat-trick in the field events. He won the shot put with a toss of 47 feet, eight inches; the discus with a throw of 146-10; and the javelin with a heave of 162-10.

He wasn’t the only Eagle winner in the field events, as Wyatt Hawthorne took the pole vault at a height of 13 feet.

The only running event Arlington won was Dawson Andrews in the 3200 meters with a clocking of 10 minutes, 4.47 seconds.

Arlington’s team score was 183 points. Lakewood was fourth with 67, Marysville Getchell fifth with 60 and Marysville-Pilchuck sixth with 50.

MG had the only other local winners.

In the 800, Gregory Panther hit the tape first in 1:58.61. The Chargers also won the 4×400 relay, with Thomas McCormick, Ryan Hascall, Evan Krautkremer and Panther finishing in 3:36.14.

For the girls, Arlington won with 154 points, beating Stanwood by two. M-P was fifth with 78, MG sixth with 74 and Lakewood last with 20.

Trinidad stood out winning both hurdle events: the 100 with a time of 15.52 seconds and the 300 in 46.27 seconds.

She also was a part of both relay wins for the Eagles.

She team in the 4 by 100 with Juliette Williams, Reagan Beaton and Mary Catherine Meno to finish in 51.21 seconds. In the 4 by 400 relay, she and Williams teamed with Kelsey Mutton and Jensyn Smith to win in 10:31.29.

The other Arlington girls winner was Reilly Kesselring, who took the high jump with a 5-foot leap.

Leading M-P was Trina Davis, who ran the 100 in 12.88 seconds. She also won the 200 in 26.96. Also winning for the Tomahawks was Catrina Wright, who took the triple jump with a leap of 35 feet, 1 inch.

MG won the 4 by 800 relay in 10 minutes, 31.29 seconds. On that Charger team were: Sydney Norton, Ariana Sagali, Abby Fisher and Julia Rea.
