ARLINGTON — With a lot of returning talent and a year of familiarity with the team’s spread option offense, Arlington looks like a threat to compete for one of the three state slots out of Wesco North.

It won’t be an easy road, though.

They’ll face five teams back from last year’s state tournament, including a season opener against non-conference challenger Glacier Peak who qualified for the 3A tournament in the program’s first year. With three non-conference opponents to start off the season, they’ll also face Wesco South champion Jackson, whom they beat in a thriller last year. The boys kick off their conference schedule at tourney team Lake Stevens — who will be without QB Nick Baker — and then come home to host Wesco North champs Marysville-Pilchuck.

The Eagles were 6-4 overall last year under the tutelage of first-year coach Greg Dailer.
