LAKEWOOD — The accolades for Lakewood girls soccer just keep coming.
Midfielder Abby Burke was named as an honorable mention of the Class 2A all-state team last week.
Burke was instrumental in helping the Cougars earn their first state berth and win their first state playoff game in school history.
Burke scored match-deciding goals in the winner-to-state game against Squalicum and in the first round of the state tournament against Klahowya.
Her goal against Squalicum was golden, as it occurred in overtime.
As a freshman, Burke was one of a number of underclassmen to fill the void after disciplinary problems left the Cougars with just one reserve and without six starters. Lakewood finished the season 13-4.
