ARLINGTON – Eagle Taras McCurdie still has a shot at state but the doubles team of Ben Nichols-Keaton McBride has been eliminated.

McCurdie plays Wednesday in a consolation semifinal match and would play for third place if he wins.

Tuesday, McCurdie opened the 3A Northwest District Tournament with a 6-3, 7-6 (5) win over Steven Lin of Shorewood. But in the semifinals he lost 6-1, 6-3 to Nicholas Descrippes of Lynnwood, who the advanced to Wednesday’s finale.

In doubles, Nichols-McBride lost 6-2, 6-3 in the first round to one of Wednesday’s finalist and by the same score in the consolation bracket.
