MARYSVILLE — Arlington Eagles girls soccer (3-9 Wesco North, 4-9 overall) visited Marysville-Pilchuck’s Quil Ceda Stadium on Oct. 20 to face the Tomahawks (3-9, 4-9) for what may very well have served as a District Tournament elimination game.
Arlington notched two goals in the first half — one from senior forward Dana Canaria and another from junior midfielder Morgan Busby off of a corner kick. — and stopped M-P’s second-half rally to hold on for a 2-1 win.
Arlington coach Nathan Davis praised midfielders Sophia Hitsky, Macy Mackey and forward Kaylee Bartley for their work on the outside.
“The girls picked these (final two) games against Stanwood and Marysville-Pilchuck as special because of the rivalry,” Davis said. “If we win out, we still have a chance to make the playoffs with games remaining at home against Lake Stevens (Oct. 24) and Monroe (Oct. 26).”
