M-P pounds Shorecrest

Despite all their experience at running back, it was junior running back Austin Denton who tore up the Shorecrest defense as the Tomahawks got a sound start to their season. True to the Tomahawk playbook, M-P ran the ball reliably and Denton scored four touchdowns, including two on breakaway runs in the first half.

Senior Devin Peterson started at quarterback for M-P, but it was fellow senior Nick Forsythe who recorded the Tomahawks’ only passing touchdown in the second half on a 45-yard pass to tight end Jarrett Finau.

The Tomahawks host Snohomish Sept. 12 before kicking off a two-game road trip to Wesco newbie Glacier Peak and familiar foe Stanwood.
