M-P blanked Arlington Saturday in the first round of the District 1 playoffs 1-0.
The Tomahawks advance to the semifinals Tuesday at Shoreline Stadium with a 7 p.m. game against Shorecrest.
Arlington goalkeeper Noah Sawdon kept the game close by knocking away a penalty kick. Senior forward Kyle Matson was fouled, but teammate Randy Galvan was unable to convert.
Tennis
MG beat M-P Friday 6-1 at Totem Middle School. The only win for the Tommies came at No. 2 singles, when Taylor Bichel beat Karry Yu 6-3, 6-0
Maria Falcon of MG defeated Paige Bramer 6-4, 6-1, Arestie Marmoley beat Joslynn Scharpp 6-1, 6-4 and Alivia Doll bested Irina Gret 6-0, 6-2.
In doubles, Autumn Perkins-Tristan Fetro won a thriller over Dana Bichel-Kristina Gret 6-4, 1-6, 7-6 (14-10), Meghan Zimmerman-Sofia Trujillo got by Athena Rondeau-Katie Stuart 6-3, 4-6, 6-2, and Ashlyn Rounds/Jayden Sheldon-Thompson defeated Taylor Martin-Maggie Schaffler 6-3, 6-2.
Softball
M-P lost to Snohomish last Friday 6-5.
