M-P swim team picks up a win, but MG falls

MARYSVILLE – Marysville-Pilchuck’s girls swim team beat Oak Harbor Tuesday at home 100-59.

The visitors did beat Marysville Getchell, however, 690-65.

Katelyn Leary stood out for M-P, winning the 200 individual medley in 2 minutes, 38.46 seconds; and the 100 butterfly in 1:10.09. She also was on both of MP’s winning relay teams – the 200 medley and the 200 freestyle.

Maddy Sulya won the 50 free in 30.79 seconds; Cassidy O’Neal the 100 in 1:12.28; Jennica Harper the 500 freein 7:14.37; and Emily Anderson the 100 back in 1:11.48.

Isabella Bennett and Maddy Grandbois were the top swimmers for MG, both winning two events and being part of the winning 200 medley relay team.

Bennett took the 200 medley in 2:24.6 and the 100 back in 1:11.48, while Grandbois won the 50 free in 31.08 and the 100 free in 1:13.2.

Lexi Kilbourn was the other Charger winner, taking the diving title with 182.8 points.

Girls volleyball

MARYSVILLE – Marysville Getchell battled in four close games Tuesday night, but only was able to win one of them, falling to Meadowdale 4-1 in girls volleyball.

MG took the first game 25-23, but then lost the next three 25-22, 25-21 and 25-23.

Setter Sydney Norton led MG with 36 assists. Mikail Montez led the offense with 13 kills. And Peyton Schmidt led the defense with 19 digs.

ARLINGTON – The Eagle girls won 3-1 but every game was a close one Tuesday night against Shorecrest.

Arlington won the first game 26-24 and the second 25-22, but fell in the third game 25-22 before winning the fourth by the biggest margin of the night 25-17.

Arianna Bilby led the winners with 14 kills and five saves, Caroline Deimer had 22 assists as setter and Madelin Frolich led the defense with 19 digs.

MARYSVILLE – Edmonds-Woodway blanked Marysville-Pilchuck 3-0 Tuesday night.

Ivy Enberg had nine kills and eight digs for the Tommies, while Alison Compton had 2 killds 13 assists and nine digs.

Girls soccer

ARLINGTON – Arlington and Shorecrest played to a 1-1 draw Tuesday night, with the Eagles lone goal scored unassisted by Riley Christensen.

MARYSVILLE – Edmonds-Woodway earned a 6-0 Wesco 3A win over Marysville Pilchuck Tuesday night.
