MARYSVILLE – Senior Evan Krautkremer won the boys race by 30 seconds to lead Marysville Getchell to a cross country win over Mount Vernon and Archbishop Murphy Thursday at Strawberry Fields.
Krautkremer’s time of 17 minutes, 12 seconds beat teammate junior Jack Rimstad, who finished second in 17:42.
MG had 30 points, MV 35 and ABM 62.
Rounding out the boys top six for MG, finishing eighth through 11th, were: sophomore Cole Norton, freshman Michael Nguyen, and sophomores Xander Johnson and Oliver Schwab.
In the girls competition, MG was second with 48 points, MV won with 17 and ABM was last with 72.
Junior Julia Rea was tops for MG with 21:45, placing fourth. Teammates Caitlyn Smith was eighth, junior Karissa Snyder was 11th, sophomore Belle Collazo was 12th, junior Abby Fisher finished 14th and sophomore Madisen Lovold was 18th.
Girls Volleyball
ARLINGTON – The Eagles improved to 3-0 after winning a tough four-set match over Lynnwood Thursday night 21-25, 25-19, 25-22, 25-23.
Arlington was led by Caroline Diemer with 29 assists, six digs and three aces. Arianna Bilby had 17 kills, two aces and nine digs. Madelin Frolich added 23 digs and three aces, and Julia Parra contributed four kills and four blocks.
MARYSVILLE – Marysville Getchell swept Cedarcrest in straight sets to improve its record to 2-1 in the Wesco 3A standings. The scores were 25-20, 25-12, 25-15.
MG was led by Kelsey Kolling with her six kills and six digs. Mikhail Montez added five kills, and setter Sydney Norton had 20 assists and eight digs.
MARYSVILLE – Marysville-Pilchuck fell to Archbishop Murphy 25-16, 25-13, 19-25, 25-18 in a Wesco 3A matchup Thursday night.
M-P was led by Ivy Enberg’s eight kills and nine digs and Alison Compton’s 12 assists. Jenna Olson added 10 digs.
LAKEWOOD – The Lakewood Cougars fell in four sets on the road to Bellingham Thursday night.
The Cougars won the first set 25-23, but lost the next three 25-4, 25-11 and 25-22.
The Cougars were led by Tehanna Goodall’s four aces, 22 digs and 11 kills, while Kristinn Bostrom totaled five aces and 21 assists. Kimmy Epperson finished with 21 assists.
Girls Soccer
ARLINGTON – Jersey Heiss recorded two goals, and Arlington earned a 5-0 Wesco 3A win over Lynnwood Thursday night.
Jordan Bartlow added a goal and two assists for the Eagles. Athena Dumadag and Riley Christensen also scored, and goalkeeper Alexis Miller-Wood recorded the shutout.
MARYSVILLE – Archbishop Murphy defeated Marysville-Pilchuck 2-1.
Meaghan Connelly scored for the Tomahawks.
In other games Thursday night, Cedarcrest beat MG 2-0, and Bellingham bested Lakewood 7-1.
Boys Tennis
MARYSVILLE – Marysville Getchell was shut out by Stanwood Thursday night.
The top performer for the Chargers were Bob Green at No. 4 singles, who lost the first set 6-4 before winning the second by the same score. However, he lost the tiebreaker in a heart-breaker 10-8. At No. 3 singles, Colby Wagstaff lost 6-3, 6-3.
In a Northwest 2A match, Burlington-Edison blanked Lakewood 7-0.
