The Little League season has ended for the Stilly Valley softball all-star teams. The major softball team, pictured, went 2-2 through the state tournament in La Center. The girls defeated the Northeast/Northwest Seattle all-stars 4-3 in their first game, only to fall to the Bellevue Thunderbirds 8-7. In the loser-out bracket, the girls defeated Chinook 10-0, advancing to a second meeting with the Northeast/Northwest girls. This time, the Seattle girls had their number, pulling off an 11-3 win, ultimately advancing to face the Bellevue Thunderbirds for the championship. The junior girls, who played at Kirkland’s Everest Park, also went 2-2 with their last three games decided by one run. Coming off of a 6-3 win over North Whidbey, Stilly Valley was sent to the elimination bracket by Columbia, 5-4. On July 20, they defeated Chinook 3-2, but were eliminated 7-6 by Glenwood on July 23.
