While all-star Little League is winding down for most teams, Stilly Valley fastpitch is still in the thick of things.
With an undefeated run through the district tournament, the Stilly Valley majors have moved on to Walla Walla, where they play for the title of Team Washington in upcoming regional play. The girls won on the opening day, 10-running Northeast Seattle, 15-5, on July 11 and defeating Sammamish 4-1 in an afternoon match July 12.

The Stilly Valley majors aren’t the only team to enjoy district glory. The Stilly Valley 9/10 softball all-stars also went unbeaten through their district tournament, blowing out South Everett in the July 3 championship game 15-5 to move on to the state tournament for their division at Everest Park in Kirkland. They’ll play at 10 a.m. on the tournament’s opening day, July 19.
The junior girls tried valiantly to make it three league teams bound to state, falling in their district championship game to Mukilteo, 7-5. The girls scored five runs in the top of the first inning, but Mukilteo answered quickly to tie it up in the bottom of the inning. Mukilteo earned the game-winning margin in the fourth inning, ending Stilly’s season.
The Marysville National all-stars enjoyed a strong run in the junior baseball bracket at North Snohomish Little League, jumping out to a 3-1 record early in the tournament, with their only loss in the double-elimination tournament coming against district powerhouse Mill Creek in the second round.
Both the Marysville American and Marysville National majors ended their tournament runs at Lynnwood’s Lynndale Park with 1-2 records. After winning their opening games, American fell to South Everett and Sky Valley in back-to-back matches, while the Nationals lost at the hands of North Snohomish and South Mukilteo by three-run margins each time.
The 11-year-old Nationals went 2-2, defeating their cross-town rivals the Americans in the first round and Stanwood Camano in game three, losing a close one to Lake Stevens and going out against Pacific.
